Organic Farming matters for the health of people and the planet

Finding a company who not only cares about the health of their consumers but the planet is hard to do! Earthbound Farm’s organic salads, fruits and vegetables are grown by 150 dedicated growers on farms large and small who help bring healthy and delicious fresh produce to shoppers in grocery stores across the country. In 2010 alone, Earthbound Farm’s organic farming on 35,600 acres will keep more than 11.5 million pounds of conventional agricultural chemicals out of the environment. In addition to protecting the planet, their Earth-friendly farming methods and unsurpassed food safety program protects the health of the people who eat their food.

And Packaging Matters too

Now, all of the “clamshell” containers for their delicious organic salads are made using post-consumer recycled PET plastic (PCR PET), which is made from bottles and other commonly recycled plastic items. This conserves a significant amount of natural resources and diverts waste from landfills.

Annually, Earthbound Farm’s use of PCR packaging saves:
•  More than 16 tons of CO2 emissions
•  424,224 million BTUs of energy
•  More than 1.3 million pounds of solid waste
