Best Non-Dairy Calcium Sources

Plainville Farms

Plainville Farms started way back in 1835 when all farming was sustainable, animals were treated with respect, and farming meant more than just the bottom line. Over 175 years later, they still believe in old fashioned farming practices. You see it in the way they treat their birds and you can sense it when you taste their products.

Now, Plainville Farms is recognized as one of the first turkey companies in the country to humanely grow healthy and great-tasting turkeys. Their turkey is 100% antibiotic free, raised on a diet of clean ingredients, pure well water and fresh air. They proudly display an Earthwise banner on all of their products and share videos of their family farmers on their website.

Plainville Farms offers far more than Thanksgiving turkey and ground turkey. Convenient cuts like whole breasts and thinly sliced cutlets offer great alternatives. In the deli section, you can find a wide variety of sliced meats from roasted turkey to turkey bologna and more. If you frequent the freezer section, be sure to check out Plainville Farm’s Breakfast sausages for a delicious way to kick off the day.

So when you serve Plainville Farms, you know your family is getting the very best. All of their turkey is antibiotic-free and all natural–no MSG, nitrates or other additives. They also have gluten free and organic selections. Raised on a clean diet without animal by-products, antibiotics or hormones, their turkey tastes just like it should; just plain delicious.

Organic Valley Omega-3 Milk

Smart Body and Mind

Everybody knows to “mind your Ps and Qs”, but did anyone teach you to “balance your 3s and 6s”? Your family’s health may depend on it.

We’re talking about omega-3 and omega-6, two essential fatty acids that we get from the foods we eat. But the overly-processed, grain-heavy foods we eat today contain too many omega-6 fatty acids and too few of the omega-3s that play a crucial role in brain and eye development and function, as well as cardiovascular health.

It’s easy to harmonize your omegas when you drink Organic Valley Omega-3 Milk. We use fish oil instead of flax or algae, because the Omega-3 EPA/DHA found in fish oil is the body’s preferred, most balanced and readily absorbed Omega-3 EPA/DHA source.

Fish oil in milk? No, we don’t just stir it in! The omega-rich oil is contained in micro caps that we can’t see or taste, but that our bodies recognize as the richest, most bio-available source of this healthy fat we can get. And it’s a great way to make sure kids get the Omega-3 they need without ever knowing it!

How much Omega-3 will you and your family get per 8-ounce serving of Organic Valley Omega-3 Milk?

Drinking milk just got a lot healthier!

Equal Exchange

Share |

Equal Exchange has worked to make trade fair for small farmers for over 25 years. It all started with an idea: what if food could be traded in a way that is honest and fair, a way that empowers both farmers and consumers? What if trade supported family farms that use organic methods, rather than industrialized agribusinesses that rely on harmful chemicals?

Our founders – Rink Dickinson, Jonathan Rosenthal and Michael Rozyne – asked these questions as they envisioned a trade model that values the farmers, consumers and the earth. So they took a big risk and plunged full-force into changing a broken food system. In 1986, they started with fairly traded coffee from Nicaragua and didn’t look back.

Today, Equal Exchange continues to find new and powerful ways to build a better, more just food system. Our products now include fairly traded and organic coffee, tea, chocolate, bananas and olive oil from small farmers all over the world.

Our worker-owned co-op is based in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Because Equal Exchange was founded with democratic principles in mind, we strongly believe in a one-person, one-vote workplace without a corporate hierarchy. Likewise, we partner with co-operatives of small-scale farmers who make their own decisions on business and community matters.

From the farmers’ co-ops to our co-op, we’re providing the best-tasting foods – while also making Big Changes to the way food ends up on your table. Shop for Equal Exchange fairly traded products now.
