Pat and Al’s Ultimate Hot Fudge Sauce

  • 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3.5 oz. Equal Exchange Milk Chocolate
  • 2 oz. Equal Exchange Very Dark Chocolate
  • 1/2 cup half and half
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • pinch of salt


  1. Coarsely chop chocolate.
  2. Using a double boiler, heat condensed milk and chocolate, stirring frequently, until chocolate has melted.
  3. Blend in half and half and simmer for 5 minutes, or until sauce thickens.
  4. Remove from heat and add vanilla and salt.
  5. Serve over ice cream, fresh fruit, or pretty much anything for a delectable dessert.
  6. Note: the microwave can also be used, heating chocolate and milks for short increments (about 30 second intervals) and stirring frequently. Watch closely to keep chocolate from burning or sauce from boiling over. Once thickened, add vanilla, salt and serve!
