Grilled Shrimp with Sweet Ginger Chili Sauce



  • 2 lbs. large shrimp (16-20/lb), shelled and deveined
  • 6 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • 3 small fresh red chilies, seeds removed and cut into thin slices
  • 1/4 cup sake or rice wine
  • 1 1/2 tsp. toasted sesame oil
  • Rice for serving
  • Ginger People® Sweet Ginger Chili Sauce


  1. Combine garlic, chilies, sake and sesame oil. Add shrimp.
  2. Toss lightly, cover with plastic wrap. Let marinate a minimum of 3 hours.
  3. Before grilling shrimp, prepare rice.
  4. Thread shrimp loosely onto skewers. Shrimp should lie flat.
  5. Grill until just opaque, about 2 minutes per side.
  6. Lay skewers over bed of rice. Drizzle Sweet Ginger Chili Sauce over shrimp and serve.
