Pork Chops with Plum Sauce


  • 2 cups pitted (approx. 3/4 pound) plums (fresh or canned)
  • 1/4 cup red wine or 1/4 cup red wine cider
  • 1 pkg. Simply Organic Southwest Taco Seasoning Mix
  • 2 lbs. pork chops (at least one-inch thick)


  1. Preheat oven to 375º F.
  2. In a blender, combine washed plums, red wine or red wine cider and Simply Organic Southwest Taco Seasoning Mix.
  3. Purée until smooth, set aside.
  4. Preheat a large skillet on medium-high heat.
  5. Brown the pork chops on each side 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Carefully place in a casserole dish large enough so chops are in single layer.
  7. Spread plum sauce on top of each chop.
  8. Place in oven and bake for 30 minutes or until pork is completely cooked.

Note: Top with brown sugar during the last 5 minutes of baking for extra sweet note.

Nutrition Facts: As prepared, each serving contains 240 calories, 17g total fat, 60mg cholesterol, 190mg sodium, 6g total carbohydrate and 16g protein.
