Spicy Teriyaki Turkey Burgers with Cilantro Lime Sauce

Ingredients:

Burgers:

  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 tsp. or 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup The Ginger People’s Spicy Ginger Teriyaki Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp. brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 Tbsp. canola oil
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 2 tsp. butter, room temp.

Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup reduced fat mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp. The Ginger People’s Spicy Ginger Teriyaki Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
  • 2 Tbsp. finely chopped cilantro

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine turkey, garlic, egg, teriyaki sauce, lime juice, sugar, and green onions.
  2. Use hands to mix, just until evenly incorporated. Form into 4 equal patties, about 3/4-inch thick.
  3. Heat canola oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add burgers, cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, until cooked through.
  5. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk mayonnaise, teriyaki sauce, lime juice, and cilantro; set aside.
  6. Lightly butter each half of buns and broil 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Place burgers on bottom halves of buns. Spoon 1-1/2 tablespoons of sauce on each burger; garnish with a slice of tomato and lettuce.
