Black Beluga Lentil Pilaf



  • 2 Tbsp. HAIN® Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp. cumin seeds
  • 1 cup basmati rice, uncooked
  • 1 Tbsp. currants, dried
  • 1 3/4 cups Westbrae Natural® UnChicken Broth
  • 1 can Westbrae Natural® Black Beluga Lentils, drained
  • HAIN® Sea Salt to taste


  1. Heat oil. Cook onion until tender, stirring continuously.
  2. Add garlic and cumin; cook 1 minute, stirring continuously. Stir in rice and currants.
  3. Add broth and heat to boiling. Stir, cover and cook over medium-low heat until liquid is absorbed.
  4. Add lentils 5 minutes before rice is finished.
  5. Uncover and cool for 5 minutes before serving. Salt to taste (not included in nutritional data).
